ModNation Racers is a Sandbox Kart Racer that let's you create just about anything for racing. At first you may dismiss it but don't, it's more
than a generic kart racer. This game has layers and plenty to enjoy no matter what you want from it. The racing alone is extremely satisfying despite being extremely
simple. To get the best times, you have to initiate drifts and earn boost by drifting, drafting, and stunting. There are also pickups for you to use against your
rivals where you can save up to make them stronger. Not only that, but you can also choose to play defensive and use your precious boost to make a shield. All this not even
including the extremely in-depth "Creation Station". This is the central hub where the player can build multiple different things such as:
- Tracks
- Karts
- Characters
- Texture editor for characters and karts
I used to play this game all the time for years until my PS3 broke. It was my creative outlet for world building and character creation.
Every single feature is well developed and let you go into more detail than even most games today! Some of the most fun I've ever had gaming.
The servers to play online and upload creations is long gone but the game remains fun and is still well worth playing if given a chance as nowadays it's very cheap.
