Resident Evil, also known as BioHazard is a video game series that released it's first game in 1996 for the Playstation. The games are survival horror blended with action, primarily in the third-person over the shoulder point of view. While the game started as horror focused, it became more action oriented with each new release.
The series began to release remakes, starting with the first game being remade for the gamecube in 2002. While the game was a massive success, the next remake didn't come out until 2019, with Resident Evil 2. With the continued critical and financial success, both Resident Evil 3 and Resident Evil 4 released in 2020 and 2023, respectively
